For CeeJ’s debut EP, she came in with a strong set of photos but needed help defining the overall creative direction and visual style. I guided her through the process, translating her inspiration into two distinct album cover concepts: one based on her scrapbook-style vision with flowers blooming behind her, and another exploring different typography pairings.
We tested both concepts as Spotify cover previews to see what would stand out at a smaller scale. Ultimately, we chose to let the image speak for itself, pairing it with a modern, sleek font that keeps the focus on the photo while enhancing it.

Inspired by the water textures in the song, this concept explores visual direction for the “Babygirl” single release. The lyrics echo the theme of holding onto hope through difficult moments. I wanted to create a cover that captures this emotional tone while still keeping the visuals romantic and light to match the artist’s brand image.
The phrase “keeping your head above water” was a key metaphor behind the visuals. Elements like lighting, silver tones, and reflections were used to create a mystical, foggy riverbed atmosphere, as seen in the moodboard. Using overlays and the blend tool in Photoshop, I built a layered water effect to translate this into a more atmospheric visual concept. Designed with motion in mind, the water elements make the static image easy to evolve into a Spotify Canvas or a motion graphic for a future social media rollout.
